In this paper, the author examines how the soviet villagers perceived and relayed the ideological statements of the Soviet authoritative discourse, how the villagers self-identified themselves, and how the villagers reinterpreted Soviet norms and mastered the surrounding reality. The study was based on the work with oral sources.
