Securities in Private International Law

In this paper, we analyzed the prerequisites for the unification of the system of regulation of cross-border securities circulation, formed an idea of the formation of a modern accounting system and the dualistic nature of securities. A comparison is made between the historically established system of direct ownership of securities and the system of indirect ownership characteristic of the modern global economy. The role of the depository has been clarified. The most important examples of attempts at unification at the international and supranational levels are analyzed and the problems to be solved are identified.
