The Influence of Different Types of Engagement and Work Interests on Organizational Performance of Employees

The influence various factors have on employee performance is now one of the major issues and challenges that need to be examined to effectively manage a company. Though the topic ranks among traditional studies it is still of the concern for authors that ultimately agree on the matter of its influence on organizational factors and performance. This project covers the main key characteristics of work and organizational engagement, factors that influence it as well as employees’ groups of interests and their performance. The general objective is to identify the influence work and organizational engagement together with employees’ job interests have on organizational performance of employees. To achieve the goal both theoretical and empirical methods are provided. The former includes the analyses of existing theories of engagement and employees’ interests. The latter consists of on-line survey of SF Education employees and the CEO of the company whose role is to evaluate workers’ performance. The paper consists of 2 main chapters. The first chapter describes the relevance of the chosen topic, establishes the purpose of the study and develops hypotheses. The first chapter also reviews the existing literature and uses it to establish the relevance of engagement to organizational and personal performance. The second chapter describes the research conducted, explains the obtained correlations and tests hypotheses. Recommendations are presented as the main conclusions that aim to increase the level of engagement based on the findings regarding their work interests. It is expected that they will not only increase the levels of work and organizational engagement, but also have a positive impact on employee performance as a whole. The value of the results. Thus, this paper can serve as a practically meaningful material for human resource management professionals, especially in online education companies, as this study was conducted in an organization that operates in the EdTech sphere.
