Justification of a Set of Measures for the Formation of a Graphene Cluster in Russia and Strengthening of its Position in the World Market

Graphene was one of the first 2D materials and attracted huge attention from the world community due to its physical properties. Graphene has a wide range of uses, from healthcare to the aerospace industry. Modern graphene research is aimed at studying new graphene derivatives and their use for the production of products and devices. Since graphene was recently discovered, a modern market for the graphene industry is taking shape today. Large countries are deploying large government programs in the race to lead in graphene technology. The purpose of this study is to study the experience of leading companies in the graphene industry and substantiate a set of measures to create a graphene cluster in the Russian Federation and strengthen its position in the world market. The graphene market volume in 2018 was estimated at about $ 35 million, and by 2026 the industry will register a CAGR of over 35%. The high production costs of graphene and the associated environmental impact are expected to impede global market growth during the assessment period. The rapid growth of the market indicates the need and relevance of studying advanced experience and attempts to introduce it into the activities of Russian companies. The general goal of the proposed project is to substantiate a set of measures for the formation of a graphene cluster in Russia and develop recommendations for strengthening its position in the world market. To achieve this goal, the following tasks will be solved: - Analyze the physical properties of graphene, its applicability, nature and key applications. - Determine the position and influence of the Russian Federation on the world arena of the graphene market, assess the country's influence on the formation of the entire market. - Analyze the stages of creating clusters of graphene goods and technologies within the country. - To study ways to stimulate new production of organizations in domestic practice and abroad. - Study the ways of using graphene from the world's largest companies. - Determine the conditions for obtaining leadership using graphene clusters. The findings and results of the study will allow the government and Russian companies in the graphene industry to optimize their production and management, following the best practices of key players in the graphene market.
