Educational Programme: Psychology (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2021

Cognitive-behavioral coaching (CBC) is an evidence-based type of coaching currently developing in Russia. Nevertheless, one concern is the absence of the necessary protocol for CBC in our country. The aim of this project was to develop and test a CBC protocol for coaches who are not familiar with CBC in collaboration with specialists from the Association for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (ACBP). The protocol was based on the theoretical review on the topic and on the developments of ACBP specialists. It was tested during coach sessions with feedback from clients and coaches. The work also resulted in the lists of recommendations for further improvement of the document. The protocol is expected to be further used by practitioners and improved. An implication of the project is that the protocol contributes to the development of CBC in Russia and provides guidelines for using a combination of tools of the cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) approach in coaching along with the opportunity to structure the coach sessions. Keywords: coaching, cognitive-behavioral coaching, protocol, CBC
