Year of Graduation: 2021

The purpose of this study is to investigate the process of "study-work" transition in the Russian labor market on the basis of the data of RLMS of the Higher School of Economics. Theoretical and empirical studies devoted to the transition from study to work were studied. On their basis, it was found that the main factors influencing the transition are: combination of study and work, level of education, as well as the locality in which the individual resides. A least squares model was used to obtain the results, which was then replaced with a model that took into account random individual effects. The results of the study revealed that the combination of study and work was indeed a significant factor in facilitating the transition from study to work. In addition, an important finding was that having children shortens the time to find a job for men, but increases it for women, from which we can conclude that there are still gender roles accepted in society.
