Perception of Gender in Russian and German Speakers’ Communication: a Qualitative Study

This paper is devoted to the ideas about gender in the culture of native speakers of Russian and German. Along with the description of the theoretical basis of the concept of gender, gender roles and stereotypes, as well as the relationship between language and gender, initial interviews were conducted and subsequently a survey was developed to identify the features of the ideas about gender in the culture of Russian-speaking and German-speaking people both within their native culture and in intercultural communication. Keywords: gender, gender roles, gender stereotypes, language and gender, gender policy, gender in culture.
