Statistical Properties of the Laser Beam Propagating in a Turbulent Medium

Student: Gaydarov Roman

Supervisor: Vladimir Lebedev

Faculty: Faculty of Physics

Educational Programme: Physics (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2021

The work consists of two principal parts - reproduction of the known and obtaining the new. The first part reproduces the construction of a stochastic field formalism for the problem of the propagation of a laser beam through a turbulent medium. The effective action is found, the Green's functions and correlators are calculated, and the problem of bright spots is solved in a general form. In the second part, the distribution functions of the envelope zero and bright spots for Gaussian beam and optical vortex are calculated, and some heuristic conclusions are drawn regarding the behavior of these objects.
