Slavery and the Sharia system of punishments in Central Asia in XVIII - XIX centuries

The purpose of this article is to analyze the role of Islamic law in the preservation of slavery in the Bukhara Khanate in the 19th century. This paper adopts the analysis method in the legal context to investigate the slavery system under the Islamic rule of law. The status of slavery in the Qur'an and Fiqh is analyzed. The author also studied manuscripts from the second half of the 19th century and the personal experiences of Arminiy Vamberi and Mirza Mahmud to analyze the attitude of the Bukharans towards slavery on a practical level.
