This research paper examines the impact of the Syrian civil war on international migration, focusing on a comparative analysis of the reaction of the United States and European countries on the specific example of Germany. The study uses a mixed approach using content analysis and case study methodology to analyze migration patterns and policy responses. The first chapter provides an overview of the Syrian civil war, including its causes, dynamics and consequences. It examines how the conflict has led to a significant increase in international migration, especially from Syria to Europe, and analyzes migration patterns, trends, routes and destinations. The second chapter examines the response of European states to the Syrian refugee crisis, with a special focus on Germany. It examines in detail Germany's response, including its open-door policy, integration efforts and the challenges it faces. In addition, the chapter provides an assessment of the European Union's policy and cooperation mechanisms in overcoming the crisis. The third chapter provides an overview of the United States response to the Syrian refugee crisis. It examines the U.S. refugee resettlement program, the asylum system, and factors influencing the U.S. response, such as political debates, security concerns, and humanitarian considerations. The purpose of this research work was to conduct a comparative analysis of migration policies and practices between the United States and Europe.
