Stanislav Naumov, business curator of the new master's program of the Faculty of Communications, Media and Design, teacher of the "Interaction between business and government: theory and practice" course won the all-Russian competition of new generation managers "Leaders of Russia. Politics». The official website of the competition states that "the purpose of the competition is to identify, develop and support prospective managers with a high level of leadership skills and managerial competencies."

The competition had several stages. Anyone under the age of 55 and with leadership experience could compete for the title of "Leader of Russia" in the political sphere. Almost 34 thousand applications were received at the registration stage. At the end of the two semifinals, 100 people reached the final.

Leader is more of an initiator, and not an initiator, who is able to perform feats alone but one who can convince others that this initiative meets a wide range of public interests, and can bring good to each specific  individual, within the target audience that attracts a project and offers a solution.

Each social contradiction has its sides, and the task is not to gloss over these contradictions but to find a mutually acceptable compromise solution. That, as a matter of fact, is the whole competition - a leadership skills simulator, to be initiators, and therefore know how to create teams, because only in a team can we achieve effective and rapid changes in the situation that we want to influence.

In the workshops that are part of our master’s programme, we will teach the students  exactly the same. So, for me, the "Leaders of Russia. Politics" competition is a kind of professional development program for teachers.

I really hope that in the future I will be able to participate in the training that is organized for 49 winners. And to be honest, I will carefully observe what the winners are taught there as well. This is important for me - to process the teaching and give it to the students of our master’s program as a gift of an educational opportunity.
