How to Apply
International student applications for Fall Semester 2022 are accepted beginning 1 November 2022 until 14 August 2023.
Admission to the Master's Programme is carried out by competitive selection, based on the submitted portfolio or based on the results of the Olympiads.

In addition to the standard enrollment procedure based on portfolio competition, prospective students have an opportunity to enhance their enrollment chances by acquiring a maximum score for their portfolio. Such exemption is provided for medalists and winners (Diploma holders of I, II and III degrees) of the following olympiads and contests:
- “The Higher League” Olympiad in Economics and World Economics (“Economics, “Financial Economics”, “International Finance”, “International Energy Sector”, “Digital Economy and Technology Megatrends” tracks).
- The “I am a Professional” Olympiad in Finance and Credit, Economics, and Management.
- The Student Research Paper Competition held by HSE University in Economics.
Medalists and Diploma holders of I degree of “The Higher League” Olympiad will also be awarded a 10% tuition fee discount. The standard tuition fee is 400 000 rub/year.
! Please keep in mind that medalists and winners of the olympiads and contests are still required to provide a confirmation of the English language level with one of the following documents:
- A diploma of the previous degree (or an equivalent document) confirming education in English.
- One of the accepted English language certificates: TOEFL / IELTS / PTE / CAE / BEC.
In the absence of a diploma or certificates, as well as in case the provided IELTS has a score less than 6, the TOEFL IBT (Internet Based) – less than 80, or PBT (Paper Based) – less than 500, an oral interview will be conducted.

- III. Complete application form in your personal account.
- IV. Upload all relevant documents following the instructions in the account.
- V. Submit your online application.
- VI. You should receive the Admissions committee's decision within 2 weeks after filing complete application
Deadline for providing all supporting documents: 14 August 2023.
Tuition payment deadline: 25 August 2023.
Applications are processed on a rolling basis and can be submitted at any time. Within three business days of receiving your application, we will send an acknowledgment of receipt.
Additional information
«Environmental Economics and Sustainable Development” is a fee-paying program.
Please note that NO scholarships are available for students applying to the program.
To pay tuition, please use HSE Payments. Note: only local currency (Russian rubles) is accepted.
