- Participating in expert discussions and conferences on African issues, particularly in the areas of foreign policy and the policies of extra-regional actors in Africa;
- Writing academic articles, scientific publications, and expert commentaries on relevant topics (focus on Arab states and security issues);
- Coordinating academic projects for the HSE Center for African Studies.

On February 6, 2026, the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies (RISS) hosted a round table on the topic "Horn of Africa countries in the focus of interests of regional and global players." Andrey Maslov, Director of the Center, and expert Andrey Shelkovnikov took part in the event.

HSE Center for African Studies participated in the events of the business program of the Second Ministerial Conference of the Russia–Africa Partnership Forum

The delegation of the HSE Center for African Studies participated in the preliminary event of the Second Ministerial Conference of the Russia–Africa Partnership Forum on December 19, 2025 in Cairo, Egypt. The event was organized by the Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Russian Foreign Ministry and the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development (EAPD).

On April 2, 2025, the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) hosted the seminar “The Policy of the Leading Non-Western States on the African Continent”. Among the participants were international specialists, Africanists, political scientists and historians studying African development issues.
