At the beginning of 2022, HSE University Degree Programmes Department underwent personnel and structural changes. Now there are two new service centres that will deal with student and teacher issues

Natalia Chichik
Director

Our centre brings together tasks related to the individual approach to a student's educational trajectory. While studying on a bachelor's programme at HSE University, students can create individual curricula based on their personal goals, interests and career plans. In addition to the opportunity to study almost any discipline taught at the university, they can choose a major in addition to their curricula, or additional major and general courses, as well as receiving a second bachelor's degree along with their first one.

In the near future, it will be possible to create an individual educational trajectory via a special digital service. Together with HSE Digital Unit and HSE Student Council, we are designing a service that will enable students to add disciplines they have chosen to their individual curriculum, keep track of their workload, and compile their schedules. We also aim to launch a guiding system, which will help students create trajectories. This will work on the basis of discipline correlation, a system of prerequisites (certain requirements that a student must meet in order to start studying) and the student’s individual educational results.

We will also compile the pools of disciplines from which undergraduate and graduate students make up their curricula, and work with students taking part in academic mobility programmes, as well as providing methodological support for academic supervisors.

In addition, the Educational Trajectory Centre will promote the new MicroDegree educational product. This offers relatively short-term, practice- and career-oriented training, focused on acquiring the skills necessary to perform certain professional tasks relevant to current technological developments and the situation on the labour market.
