Smart People Go to Therapy (Because they are Vulnerable)

On December 9-10, the HSE Centre for Psychological Counselling is joining with the HSE Centre of Leadership and Volunteering to organize a psychology weekend where experienced psychologists will speak about how to talk to employers, effective communication, and time management. On the first day of the weekend, a workshop on studying and working in a multicultural environment will be held in English, which will give international students the ability to participate as well.

The Psychological Counseling Centre provides free counseling for students in times of stress, and encourages them to ask for help with their most immediate concerns. Our staff is experienced in dealing with deeper developmental and psychological issues ranging from stress and depression to problems of adaptation and eating disorders. All concerns are addressed with sensitivity, respect and understanding. We also provide services to those who wish to prevent their concerns from developing into more serious problems. Our essential goal is to provide an environment where students are free to ask for help. Therefore we maintain the strictest standards of privacy and confidentiality.
