On its 25^th anniversary, HSE has published a book - Other Cities - a collection of stories by the University’s staff about over 80 cities throughout Russia and the rest of the world, where the authors used to live and work, and which directly contributed to their personal and academic paths. The book won’t be on sale, but we will give it to you by making a donation to a hospice.

On November 27, HSE celebrated its 25th birthday with Anniversary Night (because an average birthday party would have been rather dull). The celebration featured an entire array of different activities, and HSE students themselves came up with the evening’s programme. Anniversary Night began with the finale of the Research Battles, and from 8:00 p.m. onward, the grand ‘Night’ festival by Ingroup CTC continued. The results of the children’s drawing competition ‘I Draw HSE’ have been announced. It was held in two age cohorts, 7 to 9 and 10 to 12. The competition aimed to give children whose families are connected to HSE an idea of what the university is.

HSE is only 25, so as a young university we love everything, new, fresh and high-tech. Since we are all one big family, it’s time we asked you, as family members, for advice on one key question: what does HSE lack? What should we have that we don’t yet? Have you been struck by something you’ve seen in practice at another university, that we don’t offer, but should? Why reinvent the wheel, if we can rent them, and if we come to like them, we can always keep them. We’ve prepared great prizes for the most interesting initiatives – real bikes!

The winners of the competition for the best project describing aspects of the country’s cultural, economic, social and educational history over the last 25 years have been announced.

On June 1, the International Day for Protection of Children is celebrated worldwide. HSE timed the competition ‘I draw HSE’ to mark this date. The event is held as part of the HSE Anti-versary.
