On June 22, several HSE lecturers and staff members were awarded the status of Tenured Professor at a meeting of HSE Academic Council. Sixteen HSE staff members became Distinguished Professors at the Higher School of Economics for the first time.

On November 1st, the list of 2017 Class AMS Fellows has been made public. According to the mission of the program, 'the Fellows of the American Mathematical Society programme recognizes members who have made outstanding contributions to the creation, exposition, advancement, communication, and utilization of mathematics.'

On October 14, 2015 the New Cities Foundation will host ‘Cities on the Move’, a one-day event exploring the multifaceted nature of urban mobility and its impact on the cities.  Mikhail Blinkin, Director of the Institute for Transport Economics and Transport Policy Studies, is invited to participate in the event as one of the 150 leading experts in urban studies in the world according to the Urban Mobility ranking.

Sergey Ivanov, Professor at the School of Philology took part in the international symposium ‘The Holy Fools’ as co-organizer of the event. The symposium was held on September 11-12 at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. Ivanov presented the report ‘Holy Foolery as an Ambiguous Sanctity by Nicon of the Black Mount’.

In late June an official delegation from HSE St. Petersburg comprising Sergey Kadochnikov, Alexander Semyonov, Tatyana Alexeeva, Elena Rogova and Christopher Gerry visited Turin university, where they signed an agreement on cooperation.
