Alexander Usvitskiy, who earned his bachelor’s degree from HSE ICEF (class of 2013) and his PhD from Florida State University (class of 2019), embarked on his teaching career at ICEF this past September. Here’s how these few months unfolded for Alexander as teacher, how he feels about his student years, and what projects he is working on today.

In an era where data drives decisions, Data Analytics is becoming increasingly important. It allows organisations to make informed decisions by turning complex data into applicable insights. Recognising the importance of this field, Owen John Havercroft Reyes, a recent graduate of International Business at the University of Sheffield, enrolled as a first-year master’s student and became an international ambassador at HSE University-St Petersburg. A school focusing on the digitalisation of public administration for civil servants from African countries was held in Moscow in December 2023. The school proved the high demand for Russian training programmes — representatives of 23 countries and 3 international organisations received certificates following advanced training.

The International Laboratory of Bioinformatics of the HSE Faculty of Computer Science and its partners in the Genetics of Cardiovascular Diseases Consortium are working on a new project titled ‘From Sequencing to the Development of a Cardiogenetic Test’ (in Russian).
