In recent years, information technology (IT) outsourcing continues to receive favourable acceptance to maximize organization’s benefits. The conducted research provides an insight into the factors of development of the sphere in India which is one of the leading countries to attract foreign business activities in the past two decades. With a series of reforms by the Government of India to reduce trade barriers combined with a high quality workforce, the service sector became more appealing to foreign service companies looking for economies in cost and time. This paper will discuss the current advantages and trends for outsourcing IT to India, and shed light on the future of this tendency. The findings were later transformed into an action plan for Russian government and business society. The IT-oursourcing sphere in Russia was discussed and all strong and weak points were emphasized and a comparison between two countries was made. The subject of the synopsis is the global sector of information technology whereas the topic is limited to peculiarities of IT-outsourcing development, which are on the one hand, exclusively distinctive for India and Russia and as a result create the great advantage over competitors, and on the other, typical for developing countries, that are eager to attract foreign investors. The general purpose of the paper is to analyze the sphere of IT in India and firstly, to clearly recognize the necessary conditions for achieving the positive result and, therefore, to make readers familiar with the successful experience which may be implemented by other countries, including Russia, and secondly, to forecast possible further developments of the Indian IT-sector.
