Mythologization Problem of Political Power on the Internet

<p>In this graduation work we consider the mythologization problem of political power on the Internet. The object of my research is the phenomenon of political power&rsquo;s mythologization. The subject of the study is methods of constructing the mythological image of political power on the Internet. The hypothesis: Internet is a process that usually demythologizing an image of political power. The purpose of this graduation work is to analyze the process of political power&rsquo;s mythologization on the Internet. Objectives of the study are to determine the nature of the process of political mythology; identify forms of political power; analyze the myth as a cultural phenomenon; comprehend mythological techniques in creating the image of political power on the Internet; typologize ways of constructing myths of political power; identify signs of mythologizing and demythologizing the image of power on the Internet. To achieve the goals and objectives of the work we used the methods of typology and comparative analysis, content analysis and social networking sites, the method of situational analysis, case-study method. Theoretical basis for this graduation work consists of the works of philosophy and cultural sciences (Roland Barthes, A. Losev, Carl Jung , Mircea Eliade , etc.), political science (Ernst Cassirer , A. Stakes , A. Shestov , A. Tsuladze , E. Sheigal , E. Shestopal , G. Almond , etc.) , sociology (Jean Baudrillard , E. Vyatr etc.) of new media theory and the theory of political communication (M. Grachev, Schwarzenberg, S. Shomova, M. Castells , M. Shennikov, S. Turonok , D. Jacobson, F. Uebster, A. Chernykh, L. Manovich, etc.). Empirical base comprised of online media&rsquo;s materials (Newsru.com, Slon.ru, Lenta.ru, Gazeta.ru, etc.), official government websites (www.kremlin.ru, www.government.ru, www.gov.ru etc.), blogs and social networks (LiveJournal , Twitter, Facebook, Vkontakte). Work structure caused by its goals and objectives, and consists of an introduction, three chapters, conclusion, bibliography and appendices. In the introduction were defined the object and subject of study, the degree of scrutiny of the problem, research hypothesis, aims and objectives of the study, indicated the methodological basis of research, its theoretical and practical significance. The first chapter discusses the concept of political myth and mythology, distinguished properties and characteristics of the myth. The second chapter deals with the concept of political image, analyzes the ways in which there is a political image construction, conceptualized the notion of political power and discusses the features of political communication on the Internet. The third chapter provides an analysis of specific materials from the Internet, is seen as an image is formed by Vladimir Putin and Dmitry Medvedev on the Internet, analyzed the difference between the images on official government websites, online media, blogs and social networks . Conclusion devoted to main conclusions are summed up for each chapter, there is a confirmation of the hypothesis - Internet is a process that usually demythologizing an image of political power.</p>
