Researchers in every country are seeking for the ideal model of health care financing , but a panacea for all market failures and subjective features of each country does not exist. Distribution of public and private spending on health care in the world&nbsp;</span><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: tahoma, arial, verdana, sans-serif, 'Lucida Sans'; font-size: 11px; line-height: 16px; text-align: left; ">is destributed unevenly</span><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: tahoma, arial, verdana, sans-serif, 'Lucida Sans'; font-size: 11px; line-height: 16px; text-align: left; ">. Countries with high income are struggling with ever-increasing costs of public health , because high level &nbsp;of income contributes to greater consumption of medical services . While low-income countries can&rsquo;t ensure the full coverage of the entire population with even basic medical help.</span></p><p><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: tahoma, arial, verdana, sans-serif, 'Lucida Sans'; font-size: 11px; line-height: 16px; text-align: left; ">The purpose of this research &nbsp;is to identify the prevailing trends in the development of private health care financing , factors influencing this development and possible directions of its transformation.&nbsp;</span><br style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: tahoma, arial, verdana, sans-serif, 'Lucida Sans'; font-size: 11px; line-height: 16px; text-align: left; " /><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: tahoma, arial, verdana, sans-serif, 'Lucida Sans'; font-size: 11px; line-height: 16px; text-align: left; ">This paper describes the mechanisms of private health care financing in Russia and abroad. The study identified the trends and prospects of private health care financing in Russia given the experience of foreign countries. health care financing system should be built on the principles of solidarity and equality . The solidarity level of participants varies greatly depending on the form of public participation in health care financing . The least solidary form of payment is a direct payment for services, which is widespread in Russia. The negative side of this system is an inequal division of funding between rich and poor, as well as between healthy and sick . Therefore, there is a need to introduce a new form of health care financing based on the experience of foreign countries.</span><br style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: tahoma, arial, verdana, sans-serif, 'Lucida Sans'; font-size: 11px; line-height: 16px; text-align: left; " /><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: tahoma, arial, verdana, sans-serif, 'Lucida Sans'; font-size: 11px; line-height: 16px; text-align: left; ">In the paper author conducted the analysis and systematization of data on the current situation and the size of the private health care financing, revealed the tendencies of development of private health care financing, as well as recommendations on the directions of the state policy in relation to the development of private health care financing .</span></p>
