Individual time-management as a lifestyle

<p>The purpose of this study is to identify the specific characteristics of the lifestyle of people who are involved in the teaching and application of techniques of individual time management.</p><p>Firstly, the objective of this study is to find out the basis of the system of values and philosophy of individual time management. Secondly, the research question is to determine the degree of professionalization of coaches on individual time management. Thirdly, this study is aimed at revealing of the motivation of application and teaching the methods of time management. Then, this work tries to identify the alleged motivation of participation in lessons of time management from the point of view of the coaches.</p><p>Finally, the last task was to find out what is the differences in&nbsp; lifestyles of people who actively use effective time management techniques of those who do not from a subjective point of view of individual time management coaches.</p><p>The empirical base of this study was 12 interviews with individual time-management coaches. The data was analyzed with the help of the methods of open and selective coding in the program ATLAS.ti.</p><p>It was found out that the philosophy of individual time-management is based on the perception of time as the most valuable irretrievable resource. The central element of the system of time management is the setting of personally important goals.</p><p>Time-management coaches perceive themselves as experts in this field, but they define their profession wider &ndash; as business-coaches, coaches or business-consultants.</p><p>The community of time-management coaches was not found, but teachers of individual time management communicate with the colleagues of a broader range.</p><p>The motivation of individual time-management trainings includes both commercial and non-commercial elements, such as the spread of the idea of the value of time, improvement of people&rsquo;s lives, helping them in achieving success.</p><p>The alleged motivation of participation in lessons of time management matches with the coaches&rsquo; understanding of their mission.</p><p>The lifestyle of people who are involved in time management practices is subjectively characterized by more effectiveness, more energy and motivation as well as better discipline and self-organization. But still there is a danger of the misuse of the efficiency principle which can lead to negative outcomes such as deterioration of the relationships.</p><p>To sum up, the definition of individual time management will go as follows: it is the system of instruments for the transformation and deliberate control of one&rsquo;s lifestyle.</p><p>The author hopes that in this research a new perspective was opened on the investigation of individual time-management through the means of the analysis of its values&rsquo; structure and the aspects of the world outlook which ultimately forms the lifestyle of those who engage in time-management practices.</p>
