Today entrepreneurial university is recognized as an important element of the innovation system in the region.

Thus, the object of study is the entrepreneurial university, and the subject - the function that it performs in the innovation system in the region.

Aim: to develop recommendations to the UNN Lobachevsky in his development as an entrepreneurial university.

The following tasks:

1. Explore the concept of "regional innovation system" and "entrepreneurial university".

2. Examine the role of the entrepreneurial university in the innovation system in the region.

3. Examine the experience of foreign entrepreneurial universities.

4. Conduct analysis of UNN Lobachevsky as an entrepreneurial university

5. Develop recommendations for UNN Lobachevsky.

Innovation system means the combination of components of the innovation process: all the significant economic, social, political, organizational, institutional and other factors that affect the development, dissemination and use of innovations. Many authors studied the innovation system including. S. Freeman, B. Lindvall, R. Nelson, G. Etskovits, Edkvist Ch. The work was considered successful experience of some foreign entrepreneurial universities, namely the University of Warwick, Dutch entrepreneurial university of Twente, University of Strathclyde.

There are five key elements of the entrepreneurial university, which primarily determine the entrepreneurial university, but also serve as the main directions of the transformation of any university in the enterprise.

Moreover the experience of MIT one of the most developed entrepreneurial universities in the world is examined; main factors of its success is described.

The practical part of the work is devoted to the study of UNN Lobachevsky, which declares its focus on the development of an entrepreneurial university. In the theoretical part of the work has been highlighted features of any entrepreneurial university. Thus the aim of the practical part was to get the data in order to assess the characteristics of the selected university and create recommendations for the most successful transformation into an entrepreneurial university. The interview with representatives of UNN Lobachevsky was chosen for the research. There were three interviews with the Head of Technology Transfer Innovation Centre Nikolay Olegovich Gorshkov, Mikhail Fedotov Lvovichem, Vice rector for innovation development, and Bedny Alexander, vice-rector for international activities.

During the interview, I obtained a number of useful information that is not publicly available to make the necessary conclusions about the object.

The study concluded that today UNN is not entrepreneurial in the sense in which the entrepreneurial university is understood by the international community. But it is possible to give a number of recommendations for the creation of the entrepreneurial university, which were made in the second chapter. Main recommendation is that the university needs to develop those traits which are highlighted by leading researchers in the field and which are presented in the development of entrepreneurial universities. In any case, the university is just beginning to focus on its entrepreneurial development and has a clear focus on results, as enshrined in its strategy to 2020.
