Study of the possibility of upgrading the management of client information in Russian Banks

<p>This paper is dedicated to the use of the distinctive features of managing customer information process organization in Islamic banks in relation to the banks of the Russian Federation. These issues become relevant due to the tendency of risks increasing in the banking sector of the Russian Federation, observed in the last 4 years, as well as the need to improve the quality of customer service and the prospect of widespread implementation of &nbsp;the Basel III international standards.</p><p>Objective is to develop proposals for changing the process of customer information management and IT infrastructure to reduce banking risks. To achieve this goal the following tasks were set:</p><p>&bull; Analysis of risks faced by the banks of the Russian Federation;</p><p>&bull; Analysis of the difficulties faced by Russian banks in the processing of customer information;</p><p>&bull; Study of the specific features of approaches in information management in Islamic banks;</p><p>&bull; Investigation of the features of the IT infrastructure of Islamic banks and classic banks;</p><p>&bull; Development of IT infrastructure bank models, both AS-IS and TO-BE, applying the experience of Islamic banks.</p><p>&bull; Development of models of management of client information based on the constructed model of the IT infrastructure;</p><p>&bull; Benefits analysis of the modernization approach to information management in Russian bank;</p><p>&bull; Identification of the main barriers to the modernization approach in the bank in accordance with the experience of Islamic banking.</p><p>Empirical basis of the study is based on the Standards of Accounting and Auditing Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI), the internal documentation of the leading Russian and eastern consulting companies, internal and tender documents of Russian and Islamic banks, specialized financial media, as well as a number of master&#39;s and doctoral theses, which were dedicated to the Islamic financial system and the innovations in Russian banks.</p><p>The paper provides examples of specific Islamic banking products and explained the business processes associated with the customer service. Top level IT infrastructure models of Russian and Islamic banks &nbsp;are presented,. The specific features of the IT infrastructure of an Islamic bank were highlighted and analyzed. AS IS and TO BE models of client information management process also were created and analyzed. The advantages and impact of the modernization approach on banking risks are represented.</p>
