Influence of government policy on alcohol consumption and related problems

<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;In this article author consider government&nbsp;&nbsp;anti-alcohol policies such as minimum price for vodka, increasing prices on alcohol and time restrictions for alcohol sale on alcohol consumption in Russia. At the same time author checks the fact that vodka consumption is substituted by beer consumption due to these policies. Analysis is carried out on the data of RLMS and Rosstat for a period of 2010-2012 yy..<br />&nbsp; The results of analysis: minimum price for vodka reduces consumption of vodka and beer. Increasing price for alcohol cuts down consumption of pure ethanol, calculated by consumption of alcohol beverages (except beer). Time restrictions isn&#39;t statistically significant.&nbsp;</p>
