Estimating the Educational Inequality with Data from International Comparative Studies (TIMSS 2007, 2011)

<p>Inequality in education is a common issue in the education. International studies highlight this problem in their results.</p><p>By the results of international studies inequality in education manifested in following:</p><ul><li>Student with low SES achieved low scores</li><li>Students from big cities achieved higher in comparison with students from villages and small cities</li><li>Dispersion in results related with individual and school background</li><li>Schools are segregated by SES of students. Schools and students SES is significant factor, which related with inequality in education.</li></ul><p>In our study, we have evaluated unfair inequality in education by the results of international study of mathematical literacy TIMSS 2007, 2011. The methodology, which was used in this study has been designed based on the theory of John Roemer.</p>
