Master's thesis is devoted to the development strategy of the Federal University academic units. It works quite succinctly covers the main theoretical aspects of formation of competitive strategies and analytical tools of strategic management. The thesis describes the internal management and external economic environment of the University, presented an analysis of trends in the development of the economy and transport system in the region. The paper studied the problem of staffing industry and transport education as a whole, the gap between demand and supply of skills in the global spread of transport corridors, the dynamic development of the region and economic sector. Modification of strategic management tools to simplify and optimize the positioning of the organization that made it possible to identify priority target markets in the perspective of faculty development. Determine the type of competitive strategy of the Federal University of Education in the field of transport in the region. A development strategy of the NEFU Road Faculty including vision formulation mission, the road map with the assessment of the expected results. The strategy is aimed at the progressive, sustainable development of the educational units of the University and is focused on achieving a leading market position in the regional transport education.
