In this final qualification work is set the task of assessment of the influence of the sanctions on the banking system of Russia. On the basis of analyzed articles highlighted the problem of assessing the impact of the effectiveness of sanctions, and determined that there is no single point of view if sanctions are beneficial or not. A feature of the work is that it is one of the first attempts to assess the impact of sanctions, which made as the direct comparison of changes in individual indicators of banks with and without sanctions and as the econometric study. During the following conclusions were obtained: the Russian banking sector in the 2014-2015 years showed deterioration in the banking activity, however, it should be noted that most of the trends of the changes of the various indicators in the Russian banking sector has developed earlier. Despite the similar changes in the banks with and without sanctions still there are differences in the dynamics of change of indicators, namely, banks with sanctions showed the worst financial results compared to banks without sanctions. In addition, all sanctions banks showed worsening liquidity ratios in 2014 year, while other banks showed mixed trends. In terms of sanctions almost all the banks have started to increase interbank activity. Interbank activity growth can lead to the excellent prerequisite for further development of the banking sector and have a positive effect both for the banking sector as well as for Russia as a whole. In general, the study of the impact of sanctions on the banking system of Russia has a lot of prospects for further research, both in terms of a more detailed study of the effect on the performance of banking activities and in the extension of the sample — for example, studies the impact of sanctions on the small Russian banks.
