Relations between Indonesia and Russia can be seen from the context of history, especially in the cold war era, the same applies to the relations in the current time. If we go back to the early history of our relations, the bilateral relations were formed by political cooperation because Indonesia needed support from a big power to secure its independence. That was the core issue. Now time has changed, we have another agenda on bilateral level: moving on to practical cooperation in different spheres which is mutually beneficial.
