Evaluation of Factors that Influence on Process of Career Decision Making: Cross-cultural Perspective

The main component of the management is decision making process. In this paper is considered a special type of strategic decisions made by each individual, that affects many stakeholders as a whole - a career decision making. A model has been developed, taking into account the cross-cultural differences, and that predicts the nature of the impact of the three groups of factors - rationality, intuition and external factors that influence on the process of career decision making. Sample- 180 Russian and 57 German students. It has been found that the rationality and intuition are positively correlated with the quality of the decision, while external factors - on the contrary, have negative influence. Also, the German students have higher levels of rationality, and as a consequence levels of satisfaction from decisions made. At the end, recommendation for companies have been developed to select the most qualified candidates and reduce turnover
