Abstract The world Health Organization predicts an increase in the incidence of cancer in the world in the next 20 s at 70%. Mortality from neoplasms is one of the main causes of death in Russia. A year in Russia die about 300 thousand persons from malignant neoplasms. One of the most important tasks in this study was to evaluate the contribution of cancer mortality to the dynamics of life expectancy. We would like to understand how cancer mortality affects life expectancy in Russia. Also one of the key objectives was the analysis of mortality rates in different age groups in Russia. We also wanted to study the dynamics of mortality and average age of death for the period from 1970 to 2014 in Russia in comparison with developed countries. On the backlog of men and women of Russia from the most developed countries in mortality from neoplasms can be affected by several factors. The high proportion of smokers among the male population of Russia remains large in recent decades, Smoking increases the risk of illness many types of cancer such as cancer of the lip, tongue and other parts of the mouth, pharynx, esophagus, stomach, pancreas, liver, larynx, trachea, bronchus, bladder, kidney, cervix and myeloid leukemia. Alcohol abuse increases the figure of the incidence of such cancers as cancer of the esophagus, larynx, oral cavity, mouth and liver. comparison, in the US, the figure in 2010 was 68%. Also in Russia very low figure of the detection of active malignant tumors, and there is a shortage of personnel, the number of patients with malignant neoplasms consisting on the account, calculated for 1 medical oncologist in 2012 amounted to 458,1 people. the Lack of screening programs also have a negative effect on mortality in Russia from cancer.
