These innovations are of particular interest to the US financial sector, in particular the impact of new reforms. Moreover, the US banking sector is one of the developed, taking the leading positions among the world financial institutions. In particular, the United States is the first to carry out mergers and acquisitions, despite the tight supervision of them.

The purpose of the study is to determine whether Dodd-Frank's legislative act affects the efficiency of mergers and acquisitions in the US banking sector.

As a result of the study, the positive effect of the Dodd-Frank law on the volume and number of transactions was obtained. After the introduction of the law, the volume of mergers and acquisitions in the US banking sector increased by 26.6%, and the number of transactions by 666% (this value is not particularly important, the main thing is that there is an influence).
