Development of Software for Hardware-Software Measuring Complex for Mechanical Testing of Metal Sheet
9
2017
The main purpose of this graduate work is to create software as a part of the hardware-software measuring complex based on the ATmega328 microcontroller and a PC that measures the mechanical properties of the sheet material. It is carried out the analysis of the hardware of the measuring device and the process of its interaction with a personal computer via a USB port using serial port emulation.

The next section discusses various programming languages for solving the problem of transferring data between devices and justifies the selection of the development environment and the open free Java-based Processing language for using it with the measuring device. Before developing the final project, it was created a test program that has the receiving and outputting data functions to verify the correct connection with the measuring device using the Processing Serial library.

The resulting program receives data from the hardware part of the complex, processes, saves them in the computer's memory in the .csv format, and displays them in real time as a graph that allows you to observe the dynamical change of the material properties. At the same time, it is possible to display previous measurements downloaded from the file system as a graph.

Student Theses at HSE must be completed in accordance with the University Rules and regulations specified by each educational programme.

Summaries of all theses must be published and made freely available on the HSE website.

The full text of a thesis can be published in open access on the HSE website only if the authoring student (copyright holder) agrees, or, if the thesis was written by a team of students, if all the co-authors (copyright holders) agree. After a thesis is published on the HSE website, it obtains the status of an online publication.

Student theses are objects of copyright and their use is subject to limitations in accordance with the Russian Federation’s law on intellectual property.

In the event that a thesis is quoted or otherwise used, reference to the author’s name and the source of quotation is required.
