The work is written on a topic that is relevant in modern times. The issue of considering disputes related to the dismissal of workers for violation of labor discipline can not be actual in the conditions of a continuing economic crisis. In connection with the emerging problems of financing organizations, the decline in production and other factors caused by economic instability in the country, there is a deformation of the labor market, including rising unemployment and cases of frequent fraud on the part of the employer. This is due to the fact that the employer is trying to reduce financial costs by violating the workers' labor rights. However, the emerging situation provides a space for abuse not only for employers, but also for workers. In this paper, the procedure for dismissing an employee for violation of labor discipline, the significant errors of the employer on practical examples, and variants of reforming labor legislation with a view to their prevention have been analyzed step by step. This knowledge allows not only to broaden the horizon, but also provide practical guidance for employees and employers
