Development of an Automated System of Quality Assessment Grounding Server Rooms

Student: Aleynikov Andrey

Supervisor: Sergey Polesskiy

Faculty: HSE Tikhonov Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics (MIEM HSE)

Educational Programme: Computer Systems and Networks (Master)

Year of Graduation: 2017

The final qualifying work is devoted to the task of studying the change in the quality of grounding of server rooms taking into account the geometric arrangement of grounding elements in the ground and changing other parameters of the grounding system, as well as the development of an automated system that allows for the calculation of high-quality grounding that meets the requirements of various normative documents and assess the quality of the already existing Grounding on the basis of the same regulatory documents. In the course of the work, various types of grounding and rules for creating a system for grounding server equipment were considered. Models of the system for grounding the server room were created and the resistance of the created systems was calculated. Also in the course of the work, software was created that provides automation of the calculation of the grounding system and calculation of the quality assessment of the previously designed grounding system. The results of manual calculations and calculations of the automated system are compared. The urgency of development lies in the fact that the creation of the grounding system is necessary for safety in accordance with SNIP. Properly designed grounding system saves the company money on replacement parts that can be damaged in case of short circuit. Provides security staff of life. It reduces the effect of electromagnetic interference and improves the quality of the transmitted signal.
