In this paper, we consider the main theoretical and practical issues related to the process of replacing established commodity groups with improved products. In modern domestic practice there are a number of problems affecting the process of replacing established commodity groups and introducing improved products to the market. Most enterprises neglect the application of the market forecast, which significantly reduces the likelihood of success. This determines the relevance of this study, since the process of commodity replacement is an indispensable element of any modern enterprise in conditions of perfect competition. The subject of the study is the process of shifting the book market into e-commerce. The book market is the object of research. The aim of the work is to build a model for replacing established commodity groups with improved products. In accordance with the goal of the research, the following tasks are formulated: analysis of the book market trend, analysis of the e-book market features, construction of the book market forecast, formulation of recommendations. This thesis consists of 102 pages and includes three chapters, introduction, conclusion, bibliography and applications. The introduction outlines the purpose of the work, the relevance of the chosen topic, as well as set a number of tasks to be solved in the course of analyzing this topic. The first chapter is devoted to the consideration of the process of replacing established commodity groups with improvements on the whole on a theoretical basis. The second chapter analyzes the market of printed book products and the market of electronic books. In the third chapter, models for the replacement of printed books by electronic ones are presented, and possible scenarios of behavior for each of the markets are developed. In conclusion, the results of the work done are described.
