The Content of Public Broadcasting as Public Goods: Between Authoritative and Public Interests

In this paper, the content of public broadcasting in the Kyrgyz Republic is examined as a public good. Public broadcasting is one of the most important institutions for the development of democratic processes in the society. In essence, public television is a public good, because it is non -rival and non-exclusive commodity / service. In the course of the work, theories of collective goods production and its application to the media were studied. The experience of foreign models of public broadcasting, it’s financing and programming has been studied in detail. The criteria for analyzing the content of public TV in the Kyrgyz Republic have also been developed. The research problem sounded in this way that the content of public broadcasting in the Kyrgyz Republic is not a collective good and is used in the interests of the authorities.
