Comparative Analysis of Business Strategies of Russian and Foreign VoD Services

This study is devoted to the study of competitive and corporate strategies in the market of VoD services. The rapid growth of foreign and Russian markets for VoD services, new players and dynamically changing needs of consumers are driving the adaptation and change of business strategies of companies. The purpose of the study was to analyze the business strategies of the leaders of the foreign and Russian market of VoD services and develop strategic recommendations for Russian VoD companies on the Russian market, based on the successful foreign experience of the leaders of the international market for VoD services. Hypothesis work consists in the assumption that dependence on suppliers is a problem both for the Russian and foreign video services market. This goal involved the following tasks: - operationalize the main terms of the study; - study business strategies of foreign and Russian VoD services; - to conduct a comparative analysis of business strategies of foreign and Russian VoD services; - to identify the weak and strong sides of the current business strategies of foreign and Russian video services; - develop recommendations for managers responsible for the development and implementation of business strategies; The scientific novelty of the work is that, based on the results of the study, strategic recommendations have been compiled based on a comparative analysis of business strategies of American and Russian VoD services. As a research method, we use of case-study method. The practical significance of the research is that the compiled recommendations on business strategies of video services can be of interest to managers and managers engaged in the development and implementation of business strategies. This research will allow to develop and implement the most effective business strategy in companies from the VoD industry.
