Analysis of Factors Influencing the Development and Formation of Tourist Services Market for Chinese Out Bond Flow (the Case of Saint-Petersburg)

Abstract The study is devoted to the identifying a trends that have developed in the market of tourist services in the Chinese segment; devoted to the identifying the problems which have the greatest impact on the process of interaction between Russian and Chinese tourist companies and on the process of reception of the client from People’s Republic of China. The core aim of the research is to disclose the factors, influencing the formation and the development of the market of tourist services for Chinese outbound tourism, and the development of recommendations to overcome them. For conducting the study a number of methods were selected. A method such as “Interview” was used during the process of collecting information. 5 interviews with different actors of tourist market were conducted. Then, the most interesting ways of promotion of the territory has been studied with help of “Case-Study” method. The third method, which was used in current work, is “Content-analysis” method. The using of this method allowed to analyze Chinese tourist’s opinions about hotels of Saint Petersburg. The main platforms used when searching for reviews from customers from China about hotels are: Tripadvisor.ru, booking.com, ctrip.com. The study identified common problems which are faced by the actors of the tourist market in St. Petersburg, during the interaction with the Chinese tourists, and, also, the features and benefits from interactions with clients from China. Also, identified strengths and weaknesses of hotels in Saint Petersburg, and, finally, on the basis of obtained results recommendations were developed to change the current trends of the tourism market in the best Russian companies.
