Improving the Customer Order Fulfillment Cycle in Case of a Manufacturing Company

Keywords: customer order fulfillment cycle, business process improvement, electronic document interchange, EDI technology, reduction of the level of safety stock, model of strategic profit. The goal of the work is to shorten customer order fulfillment cycle and to increase the level of logistics service through the optimization of business processes and the introduction of EDI. In accordance with the goal, specific tasks were identified, namely: analysis of the competitive environment, financial and economic activities of the company, identification of problems of the enterprise, analysis and choice of optimization methods, development and justification of proposals for improving order fulfillment cycle. During the analysis of the company's activities, the following problems were identified: a long order fulfillment cycle, uncertainty of order fulfillment cycle time, lack of the proper level of information integration and interaction in the company. As a solution to the identified problems, measures were proposed - improvement of the company's business processes and the EDI system implementation. Also, recommendations were proposed: to change the organizational structure of the company's management. The expediency of these changes was demonstrated on the model of strategic profit.
