Contribution of Pillar Universities to Economic and Social Situation of Regions

The master thesis is devoted to assessment of a contribution of the basic universities (on the example of the basic universities I of a wave) in development of territorial subjects of the Russian Federation. At the heart of assessment indicators are proved: award for the higher education; the place in various academic and research ratings of the university; quantity and cost of the jobs created by the university or thanks to existence of the university, means, the spent students (and teachers) – nonresidents of the city on residence in the city. The maintenance of the purposes and tasks of work are defined by her research character caused by relevance, the considerable interest of the chosen subject the Russian researchers, new type of the basic universities which don't have uniform approach to assessment of efficiency of activity. Research objective is consideration of positioning of the Russian basic universities as engines of regional development. In a research three directions in which it is possible to judge a contribution of territories, basic in development, are allocated: economic development, development of the human capital, innovative development. In work theoretical basics of assessment of a contribution of the universities to social and economic development of territories are covered. In the thesis the main conditions of increase in competitiveness of basic higher education institutions of Russia are considered, and on their basis offers and recommendations submitted on increase in efficiency of activity of basic higher education institution in modern conditions of the Russian system of the higher education are developed.
