Sports Media Event as the Instrument of Formation of Image of the City (on the Example of 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia)
The issue is devoted to definition of influence of a sports media event - the FIFA World Cup - on the image of the city formed by regional media. For the last 4 years Russia has hosted many international sport evens. All these global sports events had influenced image and awareness about the host cities among Russian and international tourists. in its turn, it leads to increase of amount of tourist and investment in accommodation. Taking into account the relevance of the problem, we have analyzed academic sources, have covered theoretical aspects of a media event and FIFA World Cup as media events and also have defined the concept "image of the city" and have estimated a role of a sports media event in its formation. Moreover, we have conduct content-analysis and comparative analysis to articles in the local media of the cities from each cluster of FIFA World Cup - Kaliningrad, Saransk and Ekaterinburg to reach the goal of our isssue.
