This paper examines frames of migration and the dynamics of their changes in the US media in 2016-2017 (this interval is divided into the «pre-election», «election» and «post-election" period). In the first chapter the author studies theoretical approaches to the terms "migration", "migrant", "framing", "frame"; develops conceptual definitions of these terms, conceptual models of migration and framing; and extracts the variables of the terms "migration" and "framing" for the subsequent formulation of a code-sheet. In the second chapter, the author justifies the use of the method of content analysis and tests it on the publications of publications of various orientations: conservative - The Washington Post, liberal - The New York Times and moderate - The USA Today. This part also describes, interprets and analyzes the quantitative and qualitative results obtained and compares approaches to the coverage of migration issues in the three mentioned media sources. The paper provides an overview of the current migration situation in the world and the US, the results of public opinion polls on migration issues in the US, as well as the features of frames of migration in the US media. The developed conceptual definitions and models can be used for further theoretical studies of migration processes and framing of migration, and the code-sheet can be adapted for use on other data sets in the study of framing of migration in other publications and countries.
