One of the basic duties of any subject of labor legal relationship, including the athlete, is the duty of following the discipline which expresses the general requirement of due behavior during the work. Due to specifics of labor duties of the athlete, features of his due behavior during and out of the work, the mechanism of disciplinary responsibility enshrined in the Russian labor legislation, doesn't consider some of the aspects of work of the athlete, and hence, not fully answers a problem of prevention of minor offenses and strengthening of labor discipline. Therefore, the necessity of improvement of the right regulation of labor law responsibility of athletes for committing minor offense, defines the relevance of a subject of a dissertation research. The main objective consists in the complex analysis of features of athletes prosecution for the labor law responsibility for committing minor offense, in order to develop offers on how to improve the current legislation. The research paper reveals the maintenance of disciplinary responsibility concept, the features of structure of minor offense of the athlete, the specifics of sports disqualification and also the specifics of prosecution and involvement of the athlete to special disciplinary responsibility for the violation of anti-doping legislation. Moreover, the dissertation work formulates and offers improvements of the legislation that regulates disciplinary responsibility of athletes. In particular, the introduction of special disciplinary responsibility is offered, which concerns athletes through the adoption of the special federal law regulating questions of disciplinary responsibility of athletes for committing minor offense. In the dissertation work also other measures for improvement of the existing labor legislation, regulating involvement of the athlete to labor law responsibility for committing minor offense, are formulated.
