In modern conditions of globalization of business, toughening of competition, world instability and development of information technologies one of the most rapidly developing administrative disciplines is project management. Especially relevant is the development of this direction in logistics due to the desire of companies to provide a high level of customer service in an unstable environment and with minimal costs. The energy sector has experienced the greatest instability in the past several decades, forcing the extractive companies, whose activities are traditionally projected, to focus their efforts on the profile of the activity, and outsource the logistics that ensure the extraction of minerals with the necessary material resources. At the same time, due to high requirements for environmental protection and labor, logistic activities are transferred to international freight forwarding companies that can afford certification in accordance with all the energy companies required by standards, such as Panalpina World Transport. Thus, the goal of this work is the practical application of project management methods for the oil and gas industry by the example of Panalpina World Transport, which is one of the largest freight forwarding companies in the world. In the process of achieving this goal, a number of the following tasks will be solved: 1) Analysis of logistics activities of the company as a whole and the project direction in particular; 2) Identification of shortcomings in the logistics activities of the company's project area in Russia; 3) Development of proposals to improve the management of logistics projects for oil and gas companies; 4) Economic calculation of efficiency from the introduction of proposals to improve the management of logistics projects for oil and gas companies.
