Do you know when the exploration of cosmonautics sphere began? Undoubtedly, from the time when people began to observe stars which they used as their guidance. The exploration of space moves with the human progress. That is why I have decided to explore the star maps. The key question that I set is how the approach of the image of the starry sky has changed? I consider this map as the carrier of information which helps people to expand the frontiers of knowledge about the world throughout the history. The book consists of 7 chapter in chronological order. In this case, the chronological approach appears as a division of information on key changes in the structure of the map itself, from which each chapter begins. Also, the chapters are supplemented with pages with events that are important for the development of astronomy and cosmonautics, which also influenced the development of maps. During the study, I came to the conclusion that initially, people tried to connect the stars into constellations, turning them into associative objects ( Libra, Pegasus etc.) for easier determination of their location. Therefore, most maps were illustrations of different characters. As humanity progresses, the world understanding of the stars has undergone changes that have also been reflected in the image of star maps. As it turns out, since the exploration of stars began the establishment of the space frontier, cartographers began to gradually abandon the illustrations in favor of an accurate mathematical representation of the elements, their dimensions, and locations at the different time. Nowadays modern technologies allow us to see what the sky looks like at a certain time and place. Nevertheless, the illustrative maps did not disappear, but now they are becoming more entertaining. For example, you can put your camera on the night sky using a simple application, and this application will connect the stars in the extraordinary characters that fly through the night sky.
