Strategic Planning of Supply Chain of a Company (on the Example of Philips Lighting Eurasia LLC)

The changing nature of competition, the complexity of supply chains, the growth of customer requirement to logistics service, the high dynamics of environment have significant impact on the functioning of supply chain. In this conjuncture it’s impossible to imagine effective supply chain management without strategic planning process. The purpose of this dissertation research is to use the strategic planning procedure in order to develop strategic initiatives that lead to growth of key performance indicators of Philips Lighting Eurasia by improving its supply chain. During this work the following tasks were solved: the role of strategic planning in improving the profitability of the company's business was defined; a comparative analysis of methods and tools for strategic planning of the supply chain was conducted; a new procedure for strategic planning of the company's supply chain was developed and implemented; a set of strategic projects for improving the efficiency of the existing supply chain of the company was developed with the subsequent economic justification. The object of this master dissertation is an international company Philips Lighting Eurasia LLC. The subject of this work is strategic planning of company’s supply chain. The proposed strategic projects should have a significant positive effect on the financial performance of the enterprise. This fact proves the practical value of results of this work. Because of the implementation of the proposed strategic projects, the return on equity of the company will increase by 1,79% in absolute terms and by 4,1% in relative terms.
