Student: Babaeva Alisa

Educational Programme: Political Science (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2018

This articles' author aims to identify the factors of political and civic participation of students. Previous empirical studies have shown that the level of student participation inside the university (student council, volunteer organizations, etc.) is higher than outside (legislative bodies, public organizations, etc.) Within the framework of the theory of political socialization and by using the models of logit and order logit regression based on the responses of 227 respondents, it was found that academic factors have a significant positive relationship with all modes of participation. The factors of primary socialization have the same one except for online-participation (web political and civic activities of students). Personal factors have significant positive links with political participation in the university and beyond, are not related to civic participation in the HSE and beyond, and are not related to online participation.
