Business Implications of Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality

The technologies of virtual and augmented reality are expected to fully change the education system. These technologies are anticipated to contribute to the rise of the learning effectiveness, as well as to the problem solving of the outdated education system. This study is dedicated to the prospects definition of virtual and augmented reality technologies in terms of higher education. The object of the study is business processes in education. The subject of the study is to increase the effectiveness of education through the introduction of virtual and augmented reality technologies. The purpose of the study is to analyze the effectiveness of introducing virtual and augmented technologies in higher education. To achieve this goal, 10 tasks were formulated: 1. Studying the literature on virtual and augmented technologies. 2. Identify current problems in the field of higher education. 3. Determine the criteria for the effectiveness of the educational process. 4. Research business processes in higher education, in which virtual and augmented technologies can be successfully introduced. 5. Define key performance indicators for the development, evaluation and effectiveness of information systems. 6. Consider existing examples of the use of virtual and augmented technologies in higher education institutions. 7. Analyze platforms for the creation virtual and augmented reality applications. 8. Perform modeling of the architecture of an information system before and after the technologies of virtual and augmented reality implementation. 9. Determine the best form of education for the use of virtual and augmented technologies in the educational process. 10. To carry out modeling of educational processes AS-IS and TO-BE, taking into account the introduction of VR and AR technologies in higher education. The result of the study is the proof of the effectiveness of introducing virtual and augmented technologies in educational business processes.
