Trends in Primary and Secondary Education Ecosystem Creation

The purpose of this thesis is to study ecosystems creation in primary and secondary schools and understand the principles of educational ecosystem’s creation as well as to determine trends within this area applicable within Russian context. To achieve this goal a review of the world trends in the educational ecosystems’ evolution and three-stage research were conducted, consists of case-study analysis using data provided by OECD innovation learning ecosystem database, analyses of documents reflecting the government's strategy in the field of education and a survey among school education experts in order to prioritize the factors identified in the previous stage of the research and assess the level of distribution of these factors in Russian schools. On the basis of the results of this research, it can be concluded that the main directions of the Russian educational policy are focused only on a part of the factors affecting the development of innovative educational ecosystems in primary and secondary school. The conclusion of this study identified recommendations and strategic focuses that could contribute to the elaboration of the educational ecosystems in Russia.
